Dear Parish Family,
One of the most frustrating things a person can go through is when no one understands your struggle. Even when you talk about it, and you share your feelings and pains, you just hear, “someone has it worse than you.” Just so you know, that never brings comfort to anyone.
Jesus, however, does understand. Not only does he understand, he has experienced it. Granted, he never experienced things like going to school in the 2000s, or working a 9-5 job. But general circumstances of the difficulties we have faced, he has faced. Whether it be hurt, betrayal, temptation, being tortured, being abandoned, etc., Jesus has experienced it. But the difference between Jesus and us is that he knew how to experience those same things and not sin. He knew how to act when things got tough. He didn’t fall for the temptations we have faced.
When we’re going through those tough times and it feels like you have no one to talk to, the Word of God tells us that Jesus understands you. He gets it. You can talk to him about it. You can ask him to help you through it. You are not alone.
Are you going through such difficulties where you feel like no one can never know what you’re going through?
Jesus is saying to you, “I do.” He wants you to come to him with your hurts, your pains, your desires, your needs. I pray that you can do that, and I pray Jesus will deliver you.
Let us come to Jesus with confidence that he knows us, he understands us, he can help us, and he loves us. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. – Hebrews 4:15
